From parents and students

• Parent or student name and contact number (and WhatsApp number, if you message us).
• The student’s class, board, subject(s) and your locality in Varanasi.
• Any preferences or details you share in the enquiry form, by WhatsApp, by email or by phone (for example, preferred timings or what your child needs help with).

From tutors who register

• Name, contact number, locality and a profile photo.
• Subjects, classes and boards you teach, your years of experience and your availability.
• Your educational qualifications, and copies of your identity and qualification documents where you provide them for verification.

Like most websites, we may collect limited technical information such as your device type, browser and pages visited, through standard server logs and basic analytics, to keep the website working and improve it.

A home tutor is recommended to visit a family’s home, so trust is essential. We ask tutors for identity and educational qualification documents for two clear reasons:

• To confirm identity — so we can reasonably satisfy ourselves, and the parent, that the tutor is who they say they are.
• To confirm qualifications — so the subjects and classes a tutor is matched for genuinely reflect what they have studied and can teach.

These documents are used only for verification and matching. We do not publish your identity documents on the website. A tutor’s name, locality, subjects, qualifications and photo may be shown to parents to help them choose, as explained below.

We use the information you give us to:

• Match a suitable, verified tutor to a student’s class, subject, board and area.
• Verify a tutor’s identity and qualifications before a match is made.
• Contact you by phone, WhatsApp or email about your enquiry or registration and to arrange a free demo class.
• Arrange and support the tutor placement, and respond to your questions, feedback or complaints.
• Keep records of placements for our legitimate business and legal needs, and to improve our service.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We share it only as needed to arrange tuition:

• Between a matched parent and tutor — to arrange tuition, we share a parent’s contact details with the tutor we match, and share the tutor’s profile (name, locality, subjects, qualifications and photo) and contact details with the parent.
• With service providers — we use trusted providers to host our website and database and to store tutor photos. They process data only to provide those services to us.
• When required by law — we may disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect the rights and safety of users, the public or our business.

Your information is stored on secured, access-controlled systems operated for us by reputable cloud providers. Access is limited to authorised people who need it to run the placement service. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep your information only for as long as needed to provide the service you asked for and to meet our legitimate business and legal requirements. Enquiry details that do not lead to a placement are kept for a limited period and then removed.
