Terms & Conditions
The terms for using our home-tutor placement service in Varanasi — our role, fees, verification, responsibilities and more.
1. Our role
TopChoiceTuition Home Tuition Bureau (“TopChoiceTuition”, “the Bureau”, “we”) is a home-tutor placement intermediary. We introduce and match parents and students with independent home tutors in Varanasi, help verify tutors, and support both sides through the match and a free demo class.
We are not a school or coaching institute, we do not employ the tutors, and we are not a party to the tuition itself. The tuition is a direct arrangement between the parent and the tutor.
2. Fees for parents
Parents pay no placement fee to the Bureau. Making an enquiry, receiving tutor recommendations and taking a free demo class are free. Parents pay the tutor’s monthly tuition fee directly to the tutor at the amount the two of you agree.
3. Fees for tutors
Registering as a tutor is free. A placement fee becomes due only when a registration leads to an actual placement:
- The tutor pays the Bureau a one-time placement fee equal to 50% of the agreed first month’s tuition fee for each student placed.
- This placement fee is payable after the tutor has received the first month’s tuition payment from the parent.
- Under our standard arrangement there is no recurring monthly commission — the Bureau does not take a share of the tutor’s fee in later months.
Any arrangement that differs from the above will be agreed with the tutor in writing before the placement.
4. Direct arrangement between parent and tutor
Once we introduce a tutor and a family, the tuition is arranged directly between them. The parent and tutor are responsible for agreeing and honouring:
- The monthly fee, the number of classes and the timings.
- The syllabus, teaching approach and how progress is reviewed.
- Whether tuition continues, pauses or ends.
- Payment of the tuition fee, which is made by the parent to the tutor directly.
Both parties agree to deal with each other honestly, respectfully and professionally.
5. Tutor verification and its limits
Before we recommend a tutor, we carry out a reasonable verification based on the documents and information the tutor provides — typically a check of identity and educational qualifications, and confirmation of the subjects, classes and area they can teach.
This verification is done in good faith but has limits. We rely on the documents and statements tutors give us, and we cannot guarantee a tutor’s future conduct, punctuality or results. For this reason we always arrange a free demo class, and we encourage parents to meet the tutor, use their own judgement and supervise early classes before continuing.
6. Responsibilities of both parties
Parents agree to
- Give accurate details about the student’s needs, class and location.
- Provide a safe and appropriate environment for home tuition.
- Pay the agreed tuition fee to the tutor on time.
Tutors agree to
- Provide true identity and qualification information, and teach only the subjects and classes they are competent in.
- Be punctual, professional and respectful, and keep student and family information confidential.
- Pay the placement fee as set out in Section 3.
7. No guarantee of academic results
We match capable, verified tutors, but we do not and cannot guarantee any particular marks, grades or academic outcome. Results depend on many factors, including the student’s effort and regularity, and are outside the Bureau’s control.
8. Demo class, replacements, cancellations and refunds
- Free demo: we arrange a free demo class so a family can decide before committing. There is no advance payment to the Bureau at any stage.
- Replacements: if a matched tutor is not the right fit, tell us and we will try, in good faith, to arrange a suitable replacement, subject to tutor availability. We do not charge parents for this.
- Tuition fees: as tuition fees are paid by the parent to the tutor directly, any refund or adjustment of a tuition payment is a matter between the parent and the tutor. The Bureau can help mediate but does not hold those funds.
- Placement fee: the tutor’s placement fee relates to a completed placement. If a placement does not proceed to a first month’s paid tuition, the placement fee for that student is not due.
9. Complaints
If you have a concern about a tutor, a parent or our service, please contact us at topchoicetuition@gmail.com or +91 95697 50121. We take feedback seriously and will look into it and try to resolve it fairly and reasonably.
10. Limitation of liability
As an intermediary, the Bureau is responsible for carrying out its matching and verification role with reasonable care. We are not responsible for the independent acts, omissions or conduct of a tutor or a parent during the tuition, which is a direct arrangement between them.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our liability for any claim connected with a placement is limited to the placement fee received by the Bureau for that placement. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is shown by the “last updated” date above, and continued use of our service means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh shall have jurisdiction over any dispute.
